I said goodbye for the final time to my amazing mother on Saturday. She was always there for me, and I was there for her until her final day. She never lost her sense of humor, even under dire circumstances. I miss her terribly, but I'm happy that she's with my father now, side-by-side at the Gate of Heaven cemetery.
